And all those times when I was younger and they tried to convince me that they weren't having parties while I was asleep...lies, all LIES I tell you...I have seen many a good show sneaking into my mom's company christmas parties pretending to be an employee (because at the age of 12 I looked like I could work for a Bank...) , but of all the shows to miss cuz I'm at school T__T
I'm convinced I'm never going to be able to see this show unless I cough up over $100, which isn't likely to happen with these pockets.
*sigh*

on the plus side, I'm in DS for the first time this coming weekend. if you've ever seen a DS show, do you remember watching certain dances, and seeing that one person who is real "special"? I have now become one of those "special" dancers....sometimes I wonder what puts the idea in my head that I can do things like dance, and then I realize it's because I've lost grip with reality...nothing a nice long winter break won't fix.

I lied...

~-- You're an ESFJ

ESFJ

Well, what's there to say about ya, huh? You're a helpful person who places a high value on harmony. You pay close attention to people's needs and wants and work well with others to complete tasks in a timely and accurate way. You follow through on your commitments...you like structure and closure and like situations where warmth and compassion is shown. You're at your best by organizing people in getting a job done.

Radiate warmth and fellowship and generally fit in well with your classmates or workers....concerned about the feelings of others and like to help out when possible. You know it's important to give as well as receive and like to donate your services as a volunteer. You like to be with compatible people. You have an easier time making friends and accepting their roles in life... you like doing things traditionally.. you're old-fashioned that way.

You take the parent, spouse, employee or whatever role seriously...you learn best in a situation where you know what you can expect...you don't like continued interruptions..you really have to get along and like your teachers to learn well from 'em, huh? You place a high value on following through on tasks and assignments...you take the time to see how things fit together in the big picture, but this sometimes slows you down and makes you feel like you're learning slower than others...you respect rules and authority.. you do what you can to make sure your relationships run smoothly...

When you're in a leading situation, you pay attention to the needs of others. You often come across to others as friendly, warm and concerned....leisure is to be earned after work is done...like posting on the Storm Palace before playing the games.. ...you like including others in your relaxing... you like to have your social events regularly planned -- like a weekly softball league..

Love means warmth and commitment and you show this to your partner in many tangible ways...like cards and gifts and flowers and so on ...once you're committed, you stay in it even if it's an inconvenience to you...and maybe even longer than it's healthy...because you give so easily in a relationship, you're disappointed if others don't give as freely as you do.. you're more loyal to the institution of the relationship or marriage than the person...when burned in a relationship, you get hurt bad, and may need time to heal and get over it before moving on....you can really hurt someone if you wanted to...

Watch for: you tend to avoid conflict and sweep problems under the rug.. learn how to manage conflict and appreciate that conflict can help people in relationships to understand each other better...value your own priorities more and don't always put others' needs ahead of your own...don't bite off more than you can chew...hard to take or give corrective feedback, isn't it? You may not always ask for appreciation that you deserve...you might need to develop more assertiveness that way..you assume you know what's best for others and state these opinions.. that might rub 'em wrong and make you look bossy and rigid.... don't get so caught up in the details that you forget the larger picture....

ESFJ: "Extra Special Friendly Joiner" --~

http://haleonline.com/psychtest/

i'm really stopping this time

You scored as Middle Class. I only have 3 academic classes, which shouldn't be too bad, although it seems like a lot of reading, essay writing, etc. And now I have 2 campus jobs - one at the info desk and the other one working at Katie's old job. Plus my senior thesis, which I manage to conveniently forget every so often. Then of course there's GMC stuff, ARCC, APhiO.... O_o *sigh*
but I did bring it upon myself...I think I just have serious issues with saying no...I think that's what it boils down to...at this rate I'll end up at a job that I hate, like my sister did - she wants to quit, but they have her so busy she doesn't even have time to quit! ~craziness~

maybe it's just the whole transition from Orientation fun-ness to classes...I'm actually really glad that I did OCing this year, especially since it was my last year. though I am kind of sad that I won't be able to do it next year =Why do we have to have classes? I'm standing on the threshold of senior year, and I am freaked out as hell. I don't really know how I got here, though I am glad that I am. Looking back at my last three years here I can say that there are very few things that I'm really regretful of, and even those things that I've regretted have been constructive learning experiences. and BOY is this starting to sound way more cliched and reflective than I meant to.

anyhoo - I've been back in Pittsburgh since last Monday, and have been pretty busy with OC training. it's almost unbelievable that it's already Sunday, and the freshmen will be here in less than 2 days!!! I'm definitely excited, and very glad that I finally took the initiative to apply to be an OC before it was too late. One of my biggest fears is meeting new people, but on the flip side, I also love meeting new people...I don't know, I think I'm just a ball of contradictions like that. When I was younger my family always talks about how I used to be such a social butterfly and couldn't walk out of the house without making a new friend...but somewhere between then and now I've somehow gotten more restrained and more fearful, which I hate. But this OC experience so far I think has helped me reconnect with that part of me that I feel I've lost...cheesy as that sounds. =
It feels like a promising way to start what will hopefully be an amazing and memorable year.

peace out for now ^__~

P.S. I love Theresa! "Wild Ginger" was interesting, especially with the character development - very emotional.

I have since moved on to Candace Bushnell's "Trading Up". I think I liked having my Sunday shifts at the info desk a lot better than this wonky Tuesday foolishness from 6-10...but when the supervisor speaks, or rather when the supervisor has a daughter that wants your shift... *sigh*

on another semi-sad note, I missed dinner with my friend Henry and his parents who are in town for a few days before they go back to Houston T__T
it was nice having the house to myself for a bit, but I'm definitely glad that there are people milling about again. and it'll be super awesome when Chris gets back. at some point I think my roommate Amy is coming back from California as well, but that might not happen.

my day actually started picking up as soon as it started to end. when I got off work, I bumped into Catherine! sadly, I missed the cheese fest at Whole Foods, which is sad, because I LOVE cheese. my sister even mistakes me for cheese sometimes and calls me cheese....or maybe it's just because my name is too long for her too...hmm...
anyhoo, then within the 5 minutes when my phone decided not to hate me I managed to talk to Mr. Darren Canady - who, despite his many protests, has finally gotten himself a cellular phone!!! look at what the world has come to. next thing you know he'll jump on the blog bandwagon and create his own blog...which might be called something like sassy-pants.blogspot.com....? perhaps...

muhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Took a trip up...over...to Cleveland to play a strangely perplexing, but highly enjoyable game called Whirly Ball. It's a weird combination of bumper cars, lacrosse and basketball. You ride around in these little bumper cars, wielding these stunted lacross sticks in teams and trying to chuck a little wiffle ball at a backboard with a verticle net. It's strange, but quite entertaining. I think one of the most entertaining bits had to have been the steering stick, which is this rod that sits right in front of you in the bumper car that acts as your steering wheel...only forward and reverse are exactly the same. it's crazy!
We even got in a rousing game of laser tag with, count 'em, 2 levels. and of course, all the glowy blacklighted-ness and fog.

Definitely a trip we're going to have to repeat in the fall so that others can enjoy the amazingness that is whirly ball. Not to mention how sweet the owner is. He gave us a discount just for coming all the way from Pittsburgh to play! Someone should give that man a cookie...or a hug...though that might be weird...

All in all this has been a really enjoyable summer, but part of me feels like I'm having too much fun, and that I should really be doing some hard core research. Next year is going to be fairly light (hopefully) in terms of course work, but I have a feeling this research is going to come back and bite me in the butt @__@
But I have made my bed and I must jump around in it and fall down.

and I'm definitely excited about going home in a week. as exciting as Pittsburgh has been this summer with so many people being around, it'll be nice to see the family. And learn me some lion dancing ^__~

that seems like a nice meaty post ^__^
so I'll probably hop into bed and read myself to sleep.

i'm off like a dirty shirt ~.~

Prekieeeeees!

run and hide!!!! they're everywhere!!!

all the pre-college kids came in today, which means lots of parents and small children asking lots of questions. on top of those people who call and ask you the hours of the Museum of History...maybe the University should invest in a new sign that says UNIVERSITY CENTER Information Desk.
*sigh*
but at least I got free food ^__~

it's kind of sad seeing all of the prekies though, because it only reminds me of being old. I can't imagine that I'd be comfortable enough to post anything meaningful I would ever have to say for all the world to see. But, being bored at work I figured I would take a look, see what all the craze is about - only to find that I apparently already have a blog! ...granted the only thing I ever posted to it was "procrastination", but still...

All I can say is that this could either be extremely distracting, or just plain bad, OR I could forget to update it again like I apparently did before and then rediscover this in another year or so...

I guess we'll see ^__~

PROCRASTINATION!! ^_~
